Children’s Museum Exhibit Signage
Challenge
A children’s museum was looking to refresh much of its children’s exhibit, with educational topics ranging from gardening, to living at a lighthouse, to emergency services, and nutritional information taught via a 1950’s style diner. Tying all of the topics together while keeping the illustrations fun, accessible, and most importantly legible was a major goal.
Design
Working together with architects and the exhibit designers, I focused on a simplified, accessible art style hinging on primary colors to keep a little one’s attention. Easy to read text was a must, with simple layouts and easy to read fonts and sizes. Final production was always kept in mind with materials and their production limitations infused into the designs.
