Soft Play - IAAPA Digital, Video Collateral

IAAPA Collateral

Challenge
Every year Soft Play exhibits at IAAPA, the largest trade show for the attraction industry. In order to promote and support our attendance, a series of social media friendly files has been made over the years, including videos, stills, email-friendly GIFs, with some light copywriting.

Design
A series of three social media teasers were created to highlight the unveiling of something unique and different for Soft Play. Our booth that year revolved around a large, custom sculpted robot character to support the brand’s goal of aging up its target play audience.

Tasks included collaborating with marketing in order to nail down messaging, shooting the footage of the character being built, and putting it all together in Premiere Pro and After Effects. The audio design was sequenced to grow with each post, keeping audiences from getting bored, while the videos revealed more and more of the character design. A major challenge was working quickly to create the posts as the character was being built, as the teasers were scheduled to go out before the character completion.

A full reveal of the character is available in the fourth video, IAAPA MPOP Video starting at 0:10s.

Conference Video

Popping between the real world and the imaginary world, people are flown through products and projects Soft Play is proudest of, starting with the custom robot character created specifically for this conference. A major undertaking, we collaborated with our rendering department, and I sourced existing footage, as well as took original footage, in order to highlight more than 20 original products. Music and sound effects were meant to evoke an approachable, and slightly retro, feel.

The video was played on televisions in the conference booth.
